Search warrant leads to arrest of Martin man on multiple drug and weapons charges
On Jan. 6 the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department, assisted by the 27th Judicial Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant at 2479 Billingsby Road in Martin. When entry was made into the residence, all suspects were detained and read their Miranda warning.
Cody Bergner stated that there were narcotics in a bedroom that belonged to him and escorted deputies to the room where there were several items recovered including crystal meth, marijuana, a loaded AR-15 rifle and a Glock magazine.
Bergner later advised deputies that he was a convicted felon. In another bedroom items were recovered including digital scales, baggies and marijuana. In the bathroom a meth pipe was recovered from the toilet that Bergner advised deputies that he had attempted to flush when deputies arrived on scene.
Bergner was charged with possession of schedule VI, possession of schedule II, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and tampering/destruction of evidence.
