Martin man arrested for simple possession of schedule II drugs
On Dec. 28 at 9:18 p.m. Deputy Gary Eddings with the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department stopped a blue four door passenger vehicle om North Lindell for a broken taillight.
Upon making contact with the driver, Gavin Davis, it was discovered that Davis had a revoked license from a DUI arrest and that there was no insurance on the vehicle and the tags were from another vehicle.
After a computer check with dispatch, Davis was revoked on Oct. 11 for a DUI out of Weakley County and Davis had been arrested by Tennessee Highway Patrol on Nov. 12 for driving on a revoked license, no insurance and registration.
When asked to step outside of the vehicle and if there were any weapons or drugs on his person, Davis said that he might have some meth. Eddings located .08 grams of white powder in a plastic bag in his front jacket pocket along with several drug paraphernalia items, a small blow torch, a clear glass smoking pipe, a few clear baggies with white residue powder inside them and a green skull smoking bowl inside the vehicle.
Davis was placed under arrest and charged with simple possession of schedule II, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a revoked driver’s license second offense, driving an unregistered vehicle, failure to provide proof of insurance and violation of light law.
DISCLOSER: All information obtained came from the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department affidavit provided by Deputy Gary Eddings.
