Greenfield man arrested for meth

On Dec. 20 at 9:00 a.m. Investigator Kyle Watkins with the Gleason Police Department observed a white Hyundai turn on East Union Street from James Mill with the front passenger not wearing a seatbelt.

Upon conducting a traffic stop on the vehicle, dispatch advised that the driver, 53-year-old Gary Wallace, had an active warrant out for his arrest. Wallace was placed into custody. The owner of the vehicle in the front passenger seat gave permission for Watkins to search the vehicle.

The front passenger wanted a jacket out of the vehicle and when Watkins went to pick it up, a digital scale was observed hanging out of the jacket pocket. At that time, Watkins turned to look at the passenger who was observed to have a small container under her arm and when asked about it, she dropped it to the ground.

Upon retrieving the container, it was discovered to contain 0.1 grams of meth. After searching the vehicle, a glass pipe with meth residue on it was recovered beside the front passenger seat.

Wallace was charged with possession of schedule II and drug paraphernalia.

DISCLOSER: All information obtained came from the Gleason Police Department affidavit provided by Investigator Kyle Watkins.
