SANTA ‘PAWS’ — Santa Claus appeared to peek around a Christmas backdrop while animal control officer Alyssa Webb (left) held Elfy and fellow ACO Olivia Batts held Coco as the dogs enjoyed pup cups of whipped cream topped with dog treats Wednesday morning at the Union City Department of Animal Control building at 1415 North Fifth St. Both dogs were picked up after being abandoned. Local residents were invited to drop by the animal control office Wednesday and today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to take pictures with their own pets in front of the holiday backdrop. Donations will be accepted, but are not required.
