Gleason man arrested for vandalism

Story by Shannon Taylor Senior Investigative Reporter

On Dec. 18 Sergeant Zachary Brock with the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department responded to Parks Well Road in reference to trespassing and vandalism. Dispatch advised that the subject, 64-year-old Terry Green, who vandalized the complainant’s vehicle left the scene before police arrived.

The complainant gave dispatch a description of the vehicle and before arriving, Deputy Crocker found the vehicle that matched the description on Sandhill Road and made a traffic stop on the vehicle.

Brock arrived on scene and spoke to the complainant who was standing beside his vehicle which had two flat tires. The complainant stated that he heard an alarm going off on his vehicle and ran outside to see what was going on and saw Green run away from the vehicle, getting into his own vehicle and driving away. The complainant then noticed that the tires on his own vehicle were slashed and called the Sheriff’s office.

The cost of the tires was $100 each. Another witness on the scene told the same story.

After speaking with Green, he told officers that he did not slash the tires.

Green was charged with vandalism and transported to the Weakley County Jail.

DISCLOSER: All information obtained came from the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department affidavit provided by Sergeant Zachary Brock.

He’s certainly old enough to know better. Personally, I’ve never understood the reasoning behind damaging cars, clothes, etc. If a person wrongs you, take oit up with the person like an adult.
