HOLIDAY READY — Maverick Stough, 3-year-old son of Angela and Levi Stough of Union City, tried to remove the hat of Frosty the Snowman at one of the many Christmas tree displays at the Obion County Public Library. Local residents and businesses are encouraged to put up a tree at the library for its annual Parade of Trees. The deadline to do so is by the close of business on Friday. The library is also preparing for its annual open house Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The Voices of UCES will perform at 10 a.m., followed by the Obion County Children’s Chorus at noon. Refreshments, provided by the Obion County Prevention Coalition and the Friends of the Library, will be served in the library meeting rooms. Ginny Starks Photography will also be on hand during that four-hour period, with guests invited to bring a bear, ball or doll priced between $5 and $10 to receive free prints. A meet-and-greet with Santa, as well as story time and crafts with the Daughters of the American Revolution, are set for 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the children’s department.
