Centerville man arrested in Martin for underage DWI

Noah Pickard

Story by Senior Investigative Reporter Shannon Taylor

On Nov. 11 at approximately 1:30 a.m. Patrolman Grant Davis with the Martin Police Department observed a red Dodge drive through the intersection of Olive Street and Oxford Street without stopping at the stop sign.

The driver, 20-year-old Noah Thomas Pickard, turned eastbound onto Oxford Street and then Davis activated his emergency equipment and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle.

Upon investigation of the incident, it was determined that Pickard was intoxicated while driving, after performing a battery of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. After checking Pickard’s driver’s license, it was found that he was under the age of 21.

Pickard was read the implied consent law and consented to a breath alcohol test. The results were .113 and .109.

Pickard was charged with driving while impaired, violation of drinking age law and stop sign violation.

If you can’t do the time..(or be responsible for your actions) then don’t do the crime…alot of people are complaining about this article being posted and saying it’s unfair…but if this young man had ran over and kill one of their friend or family members while intoxicated…they would be singing a different tune…I congratulate whoever wrote this article…good job…now he will think twice before he puts his life and the life’s of other incident people in danger.
