Robbery felon apprehended by Martin Police Department

On Oct. 27 at around 6:28 a.m., Patrolman Austin Wynn attempted to stop a 1998 Nissan Altima for no headlights or taillights. The Driver,23-year-old Q’wavion Jones, slowed the vehicle down enough for him to get out and take off running. Wynn proceeded to get out of his vehicle and start running on foot to chase Jones.

Wynn followed Jones on foot until they reached 142 Lillypond Road where Jones finally stopped and was able to be taken into custody and transported to Martin PD for booking procedures.

When a search was conducted of the vehicle, officers found a Taurus PT111 9MM pistol. Jones is a convicted felon for robbery out of Weakley County with a conviction date of Nov. 13, 2017.

Jones was charged with unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon and lights required on motor vehicles.
