Raymond Sims

Raymond M. Sims, age 76, of Gadsden, Ala., passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Riverview Regional Medical Center.
His funeral service was held at noon, Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery. The Rev. Wayne White officiated the service.
Pallbearers were Marc Sims, Jamison Sims, Ethan Fussell, Sam Fussell, Kane Hendon and Matthew McClendon.
Visitation was held 10:30 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church.
He is survived by his daughters, Tarina Garrigan (David) and Tonya Sims Fussell (Boe Jay); son, Raymond “Toppie” Sims II (Lisa); grandchildren, Whitney Hendon, Ashland Phelon, Marc Sims, Jamison Sims, Ethan Fussell, Sam Fussell and Lydia-Grace Fussell; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Peggy Hogan.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Dorothy Sims and his brothers and sisters.
Etowah Memorial Chapel in Alabama was in charge of arrangements.
