Bettye Lasater

Bettye Jean Johnson Lasater, 88, of Union City went home on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020.
She was born in Hornbeak on Nov. 14, 1932. She attended Hornbeak School and was a member of the state tournament winning basketball team in 1950.
She married Bob Lasater in June 1956, and Lynnette Lasater was born April 5, 1957. Their son, Kevin Lasater, was born June 10, 1964.
She was a hardworking housewife and a member of Second Baptist Church, where she was a women’s and later teenage girls’ Sunday school teacher and was a member of the choir. For over 20 years, she was over the Sunday School program at the Obion County Nursing Home, and for 40 years she walked from one to 81⁄2 miles per week.
There will be no services held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
She is also survived by her sister, Bib Drown of Atlanta.
