Rev. Robert Lewis Evans, Sr.
October 26, 1949 – August 18, 2020
On Tuesday, August 18, 2020, Reverend Robert Lewis Evans, Sr. transitioned peacefully surrounded by people who loved and cared for him at the Loch Raven VA Medical Center located in Baltimore, Maryland.
Robert was born in Sharon, Tennessee on, October 26, 1949, and was the last of six siblings born to the late Wade Evans Sr. and Willie Catherine (Clemons) Evans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the following Siblings: James Thomas Evans, Faye Ann Dumas, Kay Frances Jones, Jerry Wayne Evans, Wade Evans Jr, and beloved daughter Dara Fola Evans.
He leaves to cherish his memory, Sister-in-law: Betty Evans, Sharon, Tennessee; Children: Dexter Jerome Evans, overseas; Robert Lewis Evans Jr., Fairbanks, Alaska; Pamela Denise (Torrance) Mitchell, Atlanta, Georgia; Adowa Monisa Evans-Weaver, Pasadena, Maryland; Trina Renee (Mark Jr.) Garner, Chesapeake, Virginia and Maurice (Trenell) Evans, Cibolo, Texas; Grandchildren: Devaughn Evans, Antonio (AJ) Garnett, Isaiah Nelson, Mykael Bennett-Evans, Antonio Felton, Alexis Garner, Eli Evans, Jasmine Garner, Robert Evans III, Jordan Weaver, Erika Evans, Niaja Mitchell, Michael Evans, Zoe Garner, Jason Evans, and Isaac Evans; Great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Jordyn, Ellis, Erin, Karsyn, Kamryn, Kameo, Josiah and also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and associates to honor his memory.
Rev. Robert Lewis Evans stepped up to claim his reward and we rejoice for the victory of his release. Neither death nor cancer claimed victory here! The preacher fought valiantly until he was promoted from the battlefield to Glory.

Due to current social distancing restrictions in place, graveside Funeral service will be held Monday, August 31, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., Highland Cemetery South Durham & Evans St., Sharon, Tennessee, 38255. Rev. Anthony M. Bell, Pastor, Pleasant View Baptist Church, will officiate. The family has entrusted the final care of our loved one to Rawls Funeral Home, Union City, TN.
