AND THE WINNER IS … — Mary Beth Kennedy of Troy, who took this photo with her Nikon B500, is March’s Photo of the Month contest winner. She said the photo is of her mother’s horse, Shadow. “We were walking in the woods when I turned around and saw Shadow staring at us,” Ms. Kennedy said. The Messenger is currently accepting entries for the April contest and is encouraging amateur photographers to submit their photos. To submit a photo for entry, email the image to ucdm@ucmessenger.com with the subject line “Photo Contest.” Emailed images should be no smaller than five inches wide and 300 dpi for the best reproduction. Be sure to include the photographer’s name, address and daytime phone number, as well as where the photograph was made, what kind of camera it was taken with and a brief explanation of the photograph. If a person is included in the photo, the name must be submitted and permission from that person must be granted.
