Completed arrangements are being announced for Josephine “Josie” McFall, 81, of Union City. She died Sept. 16, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Union City, with interment following in East View Cemetery. The Rev. A.E. McCadney will officiate.

Friends may call at Rawls Funeral Home in Union City Sunday from 5-7 p.m. Friends will be invited to share their memories of Mrs. McFall beginning at 6:30.

Pallbearers will be Tremelle McFall, Darryl Williams, Josh Freeman, Kendhal Warren, Donald Nettles, Bradley McFall, Greg Phelps, Maurice Strickland and Jerome McElrath.

She was born Feb. 23, 1928, in Terrell, daughter of the late William “Foots” and Corine (Callicott) Miles. She had been a restaurant owner for more than 54 years and was a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a “Mother of the Church” and a member of the missionary society.

She married Knox “Hooker” McFall Dec. 26, 1970. He survives.

Survivors also include four stepdaughters and three sons-in-law, Judy and Godfrey Jones of Union City, Vicki Frazier of Florida, Toni and Cedrick Hampton of Jackson and Tammie and Byron Edwards of Memphis; two sisters, Ora Guyton of Chicago and Helen Irons of Albany, Ga.; her brother-in-law, Willie L. McFall of Union City; her sister-in-law, Jeannette (McFall) Williams of Union City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ana Lee Nettles and Martha Faye Jordan.
