William Pope

Mr. William Lee Pope, who was a resident of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away on June 17, 2026, at the age of 83. 
His passing followed that of his beloved wife, Lillian Dianne Isbell Pope. 
William was born in Ann Arbor, Mich., on March 1, 1943, to the late Inez Morris Pope and Carl Henry Pope. He was raised in the Union City community. He graduated from Union City High School where he played football. 
He married Lillian Dianne Isbell Pope on May 29,1966. He is survived by two children, a daughter, Dana Lee Pope Bosco, and a son, William Scott Pope, both reside in Jacksonville, Fla. He leaves behind four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, all of Jacksonville. 
William was a dedicated Husband, Father and Grandfather.  He loved foreign travel and lived for several years in the United States Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. 
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family has requested donations be made to the Cancer Society. We ask friends and loved ones to treasure their memories of William, also known as “Willie” or “Bill”. William Pope will be carried in our hearts and in memories. He lived a life beautifully lived, full of adventure, and will be profoundly missed.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, July 17, 2026, at 3 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 4427 Emerson St., Building 2-2, Jacksonville Fl 32207.
