Dr. Bill Horner

Dr. Bill Horner, 83, a lifelong resident of Union City, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026 at 7:58 p.m. at the AHC Healthcare in Union City surrounded by his children.
A celebration of life service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026 in the chapel of White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Dr. Melvin Poe officiating.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service starting at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Dr. Horner was born Jan. 4, 1943, in Memphis, son of the late Willie C. Willard and the late Albert William Horner. He married Barbara Jeanne James on Aug. 8, 1964. She passed away Feb. 28, 2021.
Dr. Horner was a 1961 graduate of Union City High School. He attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where he graduated in 1971. He was the owner of Horner Chiropractic in Union City for over 40 years and retired in December 2010. He was a longtime member of the Tennessee Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Horner also loved spending lots of time in the outdoors and on his family farm in Weakley County.
He is survived by five children: Lisa (Brent) Callicott of Union City, Angela Ryan of Union City, Amy (Byron) Holloway of Marion, Ark., Jim (Lisa) Horner of Union City and John (Amy) Horner of Union City; nine grandchildren, Andrew (Colleen) Horner, Jacob Ryan, Alexis Ryan, Macy (Trevor Riley) Horner, Olivia Ryan (Esai Jimenez), Zach Ryan, Brady (Campbell Carroll) Holloway, Gracyn Callicott and Madelyn Holloway; and one great-grandchild, James Claude Horner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister, Ruth Ann (Horner) Riddick.
