Billy Stone

With grateful hearts for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the passing of our beloved father, devoted husband and cherished friend, Billy Jeff Stone, who went home to Jesus on Nov. 16, 2025, at the age of 83. Though our hearts ache with loss, we also rejoice in the peace he now knows and the light he brought into every life he touched.
Billy was born Nov. 27, 1941, to the late William Dudley Stone and Doris Virginia Jenkins Stone in Hornbeak. He married Clora Mae Parish Stone June 1, 1963. She survives.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Larry White will officiate with Dr. Benny Cox interpreting. Burial will follow in Cobbs Chapel Cemetery in Hornbeak.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Steve Darnall, Darryl Darnall, David Hugh Keefe, John Hartnup, Nick Gilliam and Clayton Montgomery.
Billy was a proud member of Kirby Woods Deaf Church in Memphis, as well as a former member of the Old Time Car Club in Memphis. Billy loved to spend his time fishing and with his family. He enjoyed showing old cars and working in the yard.
Billy walked through this world with a gentle strength and a spirit rooted in faith. He believed deeply in love, in service and in finding joy in everyday blessings. His life was a testament to the power of kindness — quiet, steady and unwavering. As a husband, he was a devoted partner; as a father, a guiding light; and as a friend, a constant source of warmth, humor and encouragement. His laughter lifted spirits, his wisdom grounded the uncertain, and his presence reminded us all of the goodness in humanity.
We celebrate him not only for the years he was given, but for the beauty he created within those years — for the love he sowed, the faith he lived and the countless moments of grace he shared with others. Though he has left our sight, his spirit continues to shine through the lives he shaped and the love he leaves behind.
Billy is lovingly remembered and celebrated by his devoted wife of 63 years, Clora Stone; one daughter, Brigitte “Angie” Kerby (Lyon); one grandchild, Alex Kerby; one brother, Rick Stone (Sheila); and one sister, Suzanne Atchison (Jim); one aunt, Peggy Adams; as well as multiple sister and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He joins in eternal rest his parents, William Dudley and Doris Virginia Stone; as well as numerous grandparents, aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Kirby Woods Baptist Church – Deaf Ministry.
