Mary Jo Overton
Mary Jo Overton, age 90, of Union City passed away Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Bro. Phillip Pinion officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin Friday at 11 a.m. and run until the time of service at the funeral home.
Matt Long, Josh Long, Colin Long, Rodney Bowers, Landon Priest and Kevin Priest will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles and Larry Priest.
Mrs. Overton was born on May 15, 1935, in Union City to the late H.C. Price and the late Laverne Bowers Price. She married Siler Ray Overton on Aug. 25, 1953. He preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 2012. She was the bookkeeper for the Goodyear service store for 30+ years.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Vicky and Terry Long of Union City and Christy and Heath Buchanan of Rives; four grandchildren and the spouses of two, Matt and Shelly Long, Josh and Dana Long, Madison Wade and Marli Buchanan; four great-grandchildren, Kailey Long, Colin Long, Grayson Wade and Tripp Wade; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her half-sister, Tootsie Priest.
