William Barkley

Mr. William Dee Barkley, age 96, of Union City passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, at AHC in Union City.

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025 at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Bro. Roger Shock officiating. Burial followed in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Saturday at 11 a.m. and ran until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Will Barkley, Matt Barkley, Brian Barkley, Lynn Barkley, C.J. Claybrook and Russell Autry. Character Builders Sunday School Class served as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Barkley was born in Dyer on Jan. 25, 1929, to the late Charley Lee Barkley and the late Alma Nicholson Barkley. He married Mrs. Margelene Crouse Barkley on June 2, 1951. She preceded him in death on July 4, 2018. Mr. Barkley was a faithful member of First Methodist Church in Union City. He owned The Barkley Company.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Benita Barkley of Adamsville and Britt and Luann Barkley of Union City; a granddaughter and her spouse, Rebecca and Jason Cole; four grandsons and their spouses, Will and Kara Barkley, Matt and Crystal Barkley, Brian and Kimberly Barkley and Lynn and Amy Barkley; three great-granddaughters, Emiline Barkley, Isla Barkley and Lexi Barkley; two great-grandsons, Sam Barkley and C.J. Claybrook; and one brother and sister-in-law, Harry Lee and Judy Barkley.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Kate Barkley Pounds and JoAnn Barkley Autry.
