Frankie Cheatham Jr.

Frankie Cheatham Jr., age 91, of Union City passed away Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Bro. Melvin Poe officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home, and again on Wednesday before the service beginning at 10 a.m.
Pallbearers will be is grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Teddy Willcutt and Noah Hatchett. Honorary pallbearers will be J.T. Jones Sunday School Class at Calvary Baptist Church, his Penny Hill breakfast bunch and Bill “Peepaw” Hatchett.
Mr. Cheatham was born in Union City on July 27, 1934, to the late Frank Cheatham Sr. and the late Rachel Bell Cheatham. He married Mrs. Joyce Marie Little Cheatham on Sept. 14, 1954. She preceded him in death on May 2, 2012. He spent his whole life farming for Cheatham Farms and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where you would always find him in “his pew.” Mr. Cheatham loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He never met a stranger and always had a wonderful story to tell.
He is survived by his daughters, Donna Kail of Alamo, Carolyn Cheatham of Union City and Diane Cheatham of Union City; five grandchildren, Blake (Aimee) Cheatham, LeAnn Cheatham, Whitney (Hilton) Craig, Jason (Kristina) Kail and Justin (Renee Cobb) Kail; eight great-grandchildren, Coleman Cheatham, MadiKate Cheatham, Case Dorton, Meredith Dorton, Mavree Craig, George Craig, Madeline Kail and Kloie Kail; two sisters, Norma Jean (Daniel) Downing and Patsy (George) Crum; his daughter-in-law, Wanda Cheatham; and his special friend, Betty Fitz.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Cheatham was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Cheatham; his son-in-law, J.B. Kail; three brothers, Joe, Buddy and Jerry Cheatham; and his sister, Betty Faye Cheatham.
