DRIVER INJURED — A local driver was injured early April 16 when his vehicle ran off Hollie Hutchison Road, east of Union City near Harris Station, and overturned. Clarence T. Hicks, 29, sustained injuries in a crash that occurred shortly before 7 a.m. when his 1999 Ford Ranger exited the roadway and overturned in a ditch, according to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Among the agencies on the rural scene were the Union City Fire Department, Obion County Rescue Squad, Baptist Union City EMS, AirEvac Lifeteam, the Obion County Sheriff’s Office and the THP. Fire and rescue personnel extricated the driver from the wreckage. The THP said charges are pending its investigation of the early-morning accident.
