Mickie Harris
Ms. Mickie Jewel Harris, age 72, of Hickman, Ky., passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at her residence.
She was born in Union City on April 19, 1952, to the late Leon and Dorothy Harris. She was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church. She graduated from Murray State University, where she received her degree as an English teacher, she later went on to teach at the Cayce School. She loved horseback riding, animals, gardening and anything outdoors.
She is survived by two daughters, Rachel (Joe) Turbyville of Louisville, Ky., and Ava Little of Hickman; five grandchildren, Sophia, Madeline, Cole and Nick Turbyville of Louisville, Ky., and Alexis Edgin of Hickman; two sisters, Dorothy Lee Harris of Hickman and Marcia Harris of Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Buddy Harris.
Funeral services for Ms. Mickie Jewel Harris will be held at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Hickman on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at noon, with Bro. Jason Sipes officiating. Burial will follow at Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral chapel on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
