John H. King II
John H. King II, 75, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, in Pensacola, Fla., just days before his 76th birthday.
Born on June 21, 1950, in Obion County, John lived a life marked by honor, dedication and a deep love for family and country.
A proud patriot, John served his nation with distinction in the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. As a Vietnam War veteran, he exemplified courage, leadership and selfless service. His commitment to his fellow soldiers and his country left a lasting impression on all who knew and served alongside him.
John was preceded in death by his beloved parents, George H. King and Ruth Campbell King; his brothers, George Wayne King and Stanford Thomas King; and his sisters, Oma Jean Elam and Sherry Ruth Hollie.
He leaves behind his devoted life partner, Mark E. King; his sister, Beverly King Rhodes; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
John also leaves behind his beloved fur babies, Chester and Bella, who brought him immeasurable joy and companionship.
John will be remembered for his brave spirit, unwavering kindness, gentle heart and quiet strength. His legacy of service, loyalty and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to a local veterans’ organization or animal shelter in honor of John’s dedicated military service and his lifelong love for animals.
