JUST CHILL

JUST CHILL — Lake Road Elementary School girls basketball players (from left) Benson White, Ally Davidson, Italia Gordon, Jenna Johnson and Gracie Yates reacted to the 54-degree water after taking the plunge to benefit Upper West Tennessee Area 7 Special Olympics in the 14th annual Polar Plunge late Saturday morning at Aloha Pools and Spas in Union City. They were among nearly 30 students from the boys and girls basketball teams who participated, along with a group representing LR special education. In all, seven schools participated: Lake Road and Hillcrest from the Obion County system; Union City elementary, middle and high schools; and Westview High School and Martin Middle School from Weakley County. The University of Tennessee at Martin was also represented. More than 80 people took the plunge, shattering a $20,000 goal by raising $32,051.
