Crash on Highway 22 resulted in four injuries

On Jan. 19 Interim Chief Bryan Chandler was dispatched to investigate a two-vehicle crash on Highway 22 and Evergreen Street at the intersection. Investigator Ethan Lee assisted.

The driver of the first vehicle advised that he was traveling west bound on 22 when the second vehicle pulled out in front of him and then he crashed into that vehicle.

The driver of the second vehicle advised that she did not see the vehicle until they crashed into her vehicle.

There were six people total involved in the crash and four injuries were reported. Roadways were blocked from 7:37 a.m. to 8:18 a.m.

The first vehicle had three passengers with suspected minor injuries and two were transported to Volunteer Hospital in Martin. A passenger in the second vehicle had a suspected serious injury, was trapped/extricated and was transported via EMA air to Vanderbilt.

No other details are known at this time.
