Martin man arrested on multiple charges
On Jan. 13 at approximately 7:17 p.m., Patrolman Grant Davis with the Martin Police Department observed a silver Chevy Impala traveling East on West Peach Street drive over the double yellow lines on the roadway multiple times.
Davis then activated his emergency equipment and initiated a traffic stop. Upon contact with the offender, 22-year-old Jakob Guy, Davis detected a strong odor of Marijuana from inside the vehicle.
Davis asked the Guy if he had smoked Marijuana and if he had any Marijuana inside the vehicle and Guy advised he had just smoked one joint about an hour ago and did not have any in the vehicle.
Davis advised Guy that he was going to conduct a probable cause search of the vehicle. During the search, officers located five Ziplock bags containing a green leafy substance believed to be Marijuana in a red door dash bag located in the backseat floorboard, two rolling papers filled with a green leafy substance believed to be Marijuana in Guys waistband and a total of seven THC pens also in the door dash bag. Officers also located a FN 509 9MM handgun under the driver’s seat and one electronic scale in the door dash bag as well.
Guy was then placed under arrest and transported to the Martin Police Department for booking procedures. Guy has been charged with Schedule VI Drug Violation, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Firearm during a dangerous felony and Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic
