Bethel Springs woman arrested on meth charges in Gleason
On Jan. 8 a cooperating individual with the Gleason Police Department was given U.S. currency to purchase one gram of meth at a set location in Gleason.
The drug transaction was observed by Assistant Chief Lowe and recorded by an audio recorder.
Once the transaction was over, Lowe advised that 43-year-old Yvonne Idette Nelson was leaving when a traffic stop was conducted on West Street.
Upon approaching the vehicle and making contact with Nelson, she was advised that she was being placed under arrest and advised of her Miranda rights.
Nelson handed over the $70 in U.S. currency that had been photocopied and that was used during the drug transaction to Investigator Kyle Watkins and stated that she had meth on her person and handed Watkins a bag of believed meth that weighed approximately 2.2 grams.
The believed meth that was purchased by the cooperating individual was recovered and weighed approximately 1.2 grams. The total amount of meth weighed approximately 3.4 grams.
Nelson was charged with schedule II.
