HOLIDAY SHOPPING — Chimes for Charity coordinator Stacy Hogan (left) and longtime volunteer Kim Taylor worked Sunday afternoon to check in youngsters chosen to shop for new clothing during Chimes’ annual children’s shopping tour at Walmart Supercenter in Union City. Some 300 pre-kindergarten through eighth-graders selected from city and county schools picked out clothing with the help of their parents or other family members. A similar shopping tour last week treated 100 Head Start children to new clothes. Chimes is in its 88th year of helping less fortunate families and individuals across Obion County at Christmas. The program, sponsored by the Union City Jaycees and J’Cettes, depends upon community contributions in providing food, clothing and toys to those in need.
