Wreck on Skyhawk Parkway resulted in injuries
Story by Senior Investigative Reporter Shannon Taylor
On Nov. 19 Patrolman Austin Wynn with the Martin Police Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with four occupants on Skyhawk Parkway and Mount Pelia Road involving a red Ford Ranger driven by Donald Allen from Greenfield and a white Chevy Grand Caravan driven by Patrick Cole from Dresden. Wynn was assisted on scene by Patrolman Davis Grant.
The Ranger was found upside down and the Caravan was found on its passenger side. One witness, Zackan Wagemaker from Martin, was able to produce a video from his dash cam showing that both vehicles ran their respected red lights, causing the accident.
The dash cam footage showed the Ranger running its red light and hitting the Caravan’s passenger side, causing it to roll over and end up on the passenger side. The Ranger went airborne and landed upside down due to the accident. The Ranger was traveling at a speed of 45 mph and the Caravan was traveling at a speed of 30 mph.
Three passengers suffered injuries according to the crash report. One passenger was trapped and had to be extricated and all occupants were seen by EMS. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts and both vehicles suffered disabling damage.
No further details are known about the injuries at this time.
