Weakley County Press expands social media accounts

Story by Senior Investigative Reporter Shannon Taylor

The Weakley County Press is expanding their reach in a effort to bring more people the local news they love. WCP has always had Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts, but the Instagram and Twitter accounts were left unattended for years. That has changed.

All of our social media accounts have been updated and WCP will now be posting all breaking news across all social media platforms. With social media’s expansive reach, the hope is for WCP and the Northwest Tennessee 7 to expand their reach worldwide.

In just the past week of updating all sites and posting news, insights show that WCP is receiving more likes and follows and engagement is up across all three social media sites. The hope is to expand to Snapchat also so that we can reach our younger readers.

Keep following us and invite your friends so that everyone in the County and beyond can take part in our effort to make sure that everyone stays informed with all the best local news!
