EXERCISING HIS RIGHT — Early voting for the Nov. 8 election kicked off Wednesday morning at the Obion County Election Commission office, where Ron Akin of Union City was helped by administrator of elections Leigh Schlager as he prepared to cast his ballot. Several municipal elections are on the ballot for Obion Countians, in addition to the state and federal general election races and several constitutional amendments and Senate joint resolutions. Early voting continues through Nov. 3, during which time all of the county’s registered voters may cast their ballots at the election office at 308 Bill Burnett Circle in Union City, adjacent to the courthouse. The office is open Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., as well as Saturdays from 9 a.m.-noon during the early voting period. Valid photo identification is required.
