Arrested on murder charge

BREAKING NEWS: Obion County sheriff’s investigators have arrested 51-year-old Keleta K. Turnage of Troy following a two-year investigation into the death of her husband, Bobby G. Turnage. She was arrested Wednesday for first-degree murder after being indicted by the October term of the grand jury. On July 24, 2020, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a call of possible shots fired at a home on Marion Thompson Road. On arrival, deputies found Bobby Turnage dead in the driveway from an apparent gunshot wound. Mrs. Turnage was there and told deputies her husband shot himself during an argument, the Obion County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. After a lengthy investigation, the evidence was presented this week to the grand jury, which returned a true bill allowing the sheriff’s office to officially charge her with murder. She is currently being held at the Obion County Jail, with her arraignment set for Oct. 19. (The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in the court of law, according to the sheriff’s office.)
