Elder Davidson pastored several congregations of the Primitive Baptist Church during a long career, most recently the church at Sandy Branch near Martin. He was a United States Navy veteran and a retired machinist with Goodyear Tire & Rubber.
He was born Sept. 13, 1931, to the late Malcolm Patterson Davidson and Agnes (Lampley) Davidson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Velma Ann (Lewis) Davidson, mother of his children, the late Steve Davidson and Vinson Davidson.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Davidson; his son, Vinson Davidson; his stepchildren, Chris Darnell, Benita Barthel and Starla Staley; and his siblings, Betty (Davidson) Martyn and Ted V. Davidson, along with 11 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Maley enjoyed growing and sharing a hearty tomato or a spicy pepper. He liked home gatherings where everyone pitched in and sang the hymnal favorites. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and faithfulness to all around him.
Please consider a lasting gift to Sandy Branch Primitive Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
