GRAND CHAMPION STEER

GRAND CHAMPION STEER — The annual Junior Market Livestock Sale was held Tuesday night at the Obion County Fair, with more than $200,700 raised for area youngsters. The Grand Champion steer was shown by Walker Wilbanks, son of Michael and Brandi Wilbanks of Troy. The 1,280.4-pound animal sold for a record-breaking $8 per pound or $10,243.20 to Obion Farmers Co-Op, Commercial Bank, Republic Services, Vaughn Electric and Union City Insurance. Representing the buyers were (from left) last year’s Grand Champion winner Lucas Berner, Johnny Rimmer of Obion Farmers Co-Op, Donnie Walton of Commercial Bank, Al Oliver of Union City Insurance, Colton Rinker of Vaughn Electric, Wilbanks, and Dave Bragg and his grandson Landon Bragg of Republic Services. The auction is held annually in the Hunter Miller Livestock Barn during the Obion County Fair.
