WINNING ENTRY — When Landon Bragg entered a sunset drawing in the Obion County Fair last year, he had no idea he would see it every time he went down East Reelfoot Avenue in Union City, but he and everyone who pass by Sunset Car Wash actually can. Bragg’s drawing caught the attention of Craig and Beth McManus, owners of the new car wash and president and secretary, respectively, of the Obion County Fair. Mrs. McManus said her husband had already chosen the name of their newest adventure and they knew it was the perfect logo. Bragg is the son of Dalton and Ashtyn Bragg of Union City. Other locals may share their talents for all to see if they enter their artwork and other items in the fair, which will be held Aug. 20-27. Entry day is this Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. for junior canning, sewing, art, photography, crafts and ceramics in the Raymond Phillips Exhibit Hall; and adult art, photography, sewing, canning, hobbies and crafts and senior citizens hobbies and crafts in the Domestic Arts Building. Advance tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the fair office or CAM Electric in Union City. Regular gate admission will be $12 and $15, depending on the day. Entry is pay-one-price for all rides and attractions regardless of age, except for babies in arms. The schedule of events and all entry times are available online at www.obioncountyfair.net.
