Samuel Lee Martin Huey Jr., 79, of Hornbeak passed away 3:26 a.m. Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Obion County Nursing Home.
Funeral services were to be conducted at noon today in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother William Matheny was to officiate. Burial was to follow in Mt. Ararat Cemetery.
Pallbearers were to be family and friends.
Visitation was to be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the hour of services today.
Sam was born April 11, 1943, in Obion, son of the late Samuel Lee Martin Huey Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Dyer) Huey. He married Willie May (Brooks) Huey Dec. 30, 1995. She survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving as a pilot during the Vietnam War, where he was held as a Prisoner of War for seven months. Sam was a member of Graves Chapel Church of God.
He is also survived by one daughter, Kimberly Robison (Walley) of Pensacola, Fla.; one grandson, Zack Huey; one granddaughter, Kristina Hanzel; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Pat Huey of Memphis.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Terry Huey; two sisters; and four brothers.
