STANDING IN LINE

STANDING IN LINE — Students from Union City and Obion County high schools were recently in Washington, D.C., courtesy of the Union City Rotary Club. Among the stops they made was to the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial at the National Mall. The memorial includes bronze sculptures in four distinct parts and includes quotes engraved into the stone. The students, including (from left) Bryson Dunn, Madeline Underwood, Rubi Maldonado, Tessa Bishop, Kelsey Garland, Owen Rodgers and Lainey Barker, decided to temporarily become part of the artwork showing a Depression breadline. Among those not taking part were students Ciara Gordon and Natalie Fowler and chaperones Kenny and Katie Tohn. They returned to Union City on Monday.
