Mairene Vancleave

Mairene Vancleave, 90, of Union City passed away noon on Friday, May 27, 2022, at her home.
Graveside services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday at Obion County Memorial Gardens. Pas-tor Justin Hiens will officiate.
There will be no visitation and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mairene was born July 30, 1931, in Dresden, daughter of the late James Madison and Irene (Darnall) Matheny. She married Herman Vancleave July 30, 1949. He preceded her in death Aug. 9, 2003.
Mairene was a homemaker and a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City.
She is survived by two daughters, Joan Emery of Union City and Kathy Jones (George) of Jackson; five grandchildren, Charlie Hall (Brenda) of South Fulton, Kevin Hall of Union City, Alisa Staggs (Johnny) of Spring, Texas, Rance Barham (Jenifer) of North Kansas City, Mo., and J.P. Jones (Meagan) of Hattiesburg, Miss.; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Patsy Tucker of Lansing, Mich., and Joyce Jolley and Sue Mansfield, both of Dresden; and one brother, James Matheny of Dresden.
She was also preceded in death by five sisters.

    She was a sweet and kind lady and treated me as such from the time I first met her.
