IN FULL FORCE — A kitchen pot, a picture frame, decorative items and a full bottle of unopened wine sat atop a kitchen table that was surrounded by storage boxes in the driveway of where a home once stood in Samburg this morning. A crew of volunteers are working diligently today with excavators large and small to clean up what was left in the path of a destructive tornado on Dec. 10. Federal Emergency Management Agency officials were also expected to be in the city today to continue the assessment process in Obion County that will help determine if the area gets federal assistance. While the heavy equipment moves the big stuff, volunteers are still needed there to walk the city’s streets and surrounding fields to pick up debris scattered by the tornado which is too small for the equipment to clear.
