HAPPY BIRTHDAY — Eighteen years ago today, the Obion County Public Library opened its state-of-the-art building to the public. In recognition of this special day, library director Carolina Conner (left) and assistant director Beth Micke decorated the case in the foyer of the library. It includes a special birthday cake, a banner with handprints from Pre-school Storytime participants and photos from the opening, as well as information and examples of what the library offers now. To celebrate, the library has a goal of reaching 3,000 checkouts using the Libby app. Library patrons only need to have the app downloaded on their smart electronic devices and a library card or phone number. Libby can be used for ebooks and audio books. A come-and-go lab is being held today from 2-6 p.m. for those who need assistance using Libby. The display will remain in the case through the end of the year. Anyone wishing to reserve the display case for 2022 may contact the library at 731-885-7000.
