Mrs. Birdie Mae Hicks, age 88, of Martin, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2021, at Baptist Hospital in Union City. A private graveside service will be held with Lowell Wiley officiating. Pallbearers will be Bruce Hicks, Brian Hicks, Colin Stricklin, and Easton Stricklin. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by her children, Elsie (Jeff) Stricklin of Martin, Karen (Rob) Rando and Della Ion’Bevier, both of Jackson, Michigan, Alice (Rick) Peets of Romulus, Michigan, Janice Hicks of Martin, Cheryl (Rodney) Jensen of Belleville, Michigan, Dora Richards of Jackson, Michigan, Arnold (Vicki) Hicks of Melbourne, Florida, Gary Hicks of Jackson, Michigan, Randy (Cheri) Hicks of North Augusta, South Carolina and Richard (Kimberly) Hicks of Martin; 30 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry (Linda) Flannery of Jackson, Michigan; and two sisters, Clara Hicks of Leslie, Michigan and Phyllis Hicks of Jackson, Michigan. Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her husband, Estill Hicks; her parents, Phillip Flannery and Della Parrot Flannery; one grandchild, Allison Jean Richards; and three brothers, David Flannery, Chuck Flannery and Junior Flannery.
