CLOSE ENCOUNTER

CLOSE ENCOUNTER — Ten-year-old Tinsley Leyhue of Martin gingerly held a foam brush of nectar steady in her hand Friday night as a beautiful monarch butterfly landed to dine inside a netted butterfly house set up along the midway at the Obion County Fair. The Butterfly Encounter, based in Florida, allowed visitors to go inside for free and interact with several species of butterflies, which were attracted to flowers and nectar and sometimes landed on guests. Tinsley and her dad, Chris Leyhue, were among those who stepped inside to enjoy the activity.
