Bertha Chester

Mrs. Bertha Marie Chester, age 89, of Martin, died Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at the Weakley County Nursing and Rehab Center in Dresden. Funeral service as held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin with Rev. Randy Cooper and Rev. Amanda Crice officiating. Burial followed at Flatwoods Cemetery, near Camden. Pallbearers were Matthew Brown, Griffin Brown, Robert Brown, David Markham, Steve Markham, and Chuck Markham. Mrs. Chester was a member of First United Methodist Church of Martin and was retired from the University of Tennessee Martin as a secretary in the English Department. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Mary Allen Markham. Mrs. Chester is survived by her husband, William Wayne Chester of Martin; her daughter, Sherrie (Robert) Brown of Milan; and two grandchildren, Matthew (Becca) Brown and Griffin Brown.
