Buddy Scheland
James Edward “Buddy” Scheland, 71, of the Bogus Hollow community passed away 4 a.m. Sunday, May 23, 2021, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Rick Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Manuel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Lee, Bubba Murray, Joshua Bone, Austin Sera, Tim Gordon, Mark Bratton and William Jackson.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of services today at the funeral home.
Buddy was born May 27, 1949, in the Walnut Log community, son of the late James Iller and Nelsie (Eason) Scheland. He married Phyllis (Netherland) Scheland July 19, 1996. She survives.
Buddy retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 38 years of service. He was an avid hunter and of the Baptist faith.
He is also survived by two sons, Brad Scheland (Sarah) of Union City and David Scheland of Troy; two stepdaughters, Carol Bone (Ed) of Martin and Christy Lee (James) of Union City; two sisters, Joyce Lyle of Union City and Joan McClain of the Shawtown community; 10 grandchildren, Samantha Scheland, Brooke Scheland, Candace Scheland and Lesley Murray, all of Union City, Austin Sera and Joshua Bone, both of Martin, Bridgett Bone of Dresden, Ashley Bone and Ryan Bone, both of Gleason and Bubba Murray of South Fulton; and eight great-grandchildren.
