RESTORING SERVICE — A couple of Spectrum employees were busy working in Samburg Wednesday afternoon to restore cable and Internet services following a storm that moved through the county Tuesday morning. Samburg was one of the hardest hit locations in Obion County. In addition to trees, many older than 100 years, being felled, several buildings received damage. Among them was the Reelfoot Lakeview Motel. Gibson Electric Membership Corp. and Union City Energy Authority, with assistance from Southwest Tennessee Electric Cooperative, Pickwick Electric Cooperative, Service Electric, Forked Deer Electric Cooperative, West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative, Bolivar Energy Authority and Trenton Light and Water, have been restoring electrical services ever since the storm ended.
