Wayne McLendon

Wayne McLendon, 70, of Newbern died Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at his residence.
Born Wednesday, Jan. 11, 1950, in Dawson, Ga., he was the son of the late John Edward McLendon and the late Roberta Hicks McLendon. Mr. McLendon worked for Atmos Energy for 26 years and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Visitation for Mr. McLendon will be held from 1 until 2 p.m. on Friday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Interment for Mr. McLendon will be held at the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads at a later date.
He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Eric McLendon of Union City; his fiancée, Virginia Therrien of Newbern; one brother, Micheal McLendon (Candace) of Kalispell, Mont.; three sisters, Linda McLendon and Sandra Franks, both of Yorkville, and Carol Scheland of Pennsylvania; and three grandchildren, Gabriel McLendon, Josiah McLendon and Felicity McLendon.
