TRUCKING ALONG

TRUCKING ALONG — Two-year-old Coleson Taylor entertained himself with a toy truck while his mother, Ginny Taylor of Union City, worked alongside other volunteers during Chimes for Charity’s sorting activity Tuesday afternoon at the Obion County school bus garage in Troy’s industrial park. The volunteers worked to sort toys, canned goods and non-perishable food items recently donated to Chimes through local collection efforts in the community. Chimes is in its 86th season of providing food, clothing and toys to less fortunate families across Obion County at Christmas. This year’s program will culminate with the delivery of 300 food baskets to those in need early Thursday. Volunteers gathered at the bus garage at 11 this morning to pack the baskets, with that activity expected to continue into early this evening for anyone wishing to help.
