SEASON’S BEST — Union City High School senior Wes Tilghman has been named The Messenger’s Obion County Prep Football Player of the Year after an outstanding season as the Golden Tornadoes’ quarterback. Tilghman led the county in rushing with 1,447 yards on 162 carries and points with 120 on 20 touchdowns. He also had 28 tackles and two fumble recoveries on defense. UC posted a 6-5 record and advanced to the second round of the Class 2A state playoffs. He was presented the award by Messenger sports editor Kevin Weaks.
