SPECIAL NIGHT — Family members and a few former players were in attendance for the dedication of Jimmy Whitby Court at the Obion County Central High School gymnasium Friday night between games against visiting Lake County. At the ceremony were (from left) Fritz Fussell, son Denver Whitby, daughter Heather Whitby, OCCHS principal Barry Kendall, Robin Cude and Jeff Riley. Fussell, Denver Whitby, Cude and Riley all played for Jimmy Whitby, who posted 466 wins and led the Rebels to the Class AA state championship in 1986. Whitby’s son Cannon, who starred on that 1986 team, sent a video tribute.
