CHIMES CHECK-IN — Chimes for Charity secretary Stacy Hogan (right) and fellow longtime volunteer Kristi Townes manned the check-in station Sunday afternoon outside Walmart Supercenter in Union City as local youngsters and their families checked in for Chimes’ annual children’s shopping tour. Due to COVID-19, precautionary measures were put in place for this year’s event — which included no outside volunteer shoppers and the chosen children having to stay with a family member to shop for their $150 worth of clothing. All participants were required to wear face masks and practice social distancing. Members of the Union City Jaycees and J’Cettes, which sponsor Chimes, were on hand to assist with check-in and check-out. The less fortunate children who shopped were picked through the county and city school systems.
