IN THE BAG — Forty pounds of un-used or expired medications were collected Saturday during a DEA National Drug Take Back event held at the Union City Walmart Supercenter’s garden center. Locally, it was a joint effort of the Obion County Prevention Coalition, Obion County Sheriff’s Office, Union City Police Department and Walmart. Among those on hand to help during the four-hour event were (from left) coalition chairman Joe Garner, a retired Union City police chief, who was assisted by sheriff’s deputy Danny Evans and police patrol officer Cpl. Joey Faulkner as they gathered some of the medications collected for safe and proper disposal.
